CMR- Milano Linate Meteomont Bulletin

The Meteomont Bulletin for mountain areas has been edited for almost 35 years by CMR - Milano Linate that elaborates daily forecast (at 9.00) for each mountain sector related to Alps and Apennines.
It is subdivided (click here to consult) into six areas in which you can find forecasts for each mountain sector (for ex.: Cottian, Graian, Ligurian Maritime, Pennine and Lepontine Alps).

How to consult the CMR Meteomont bulletin

The forecast is divided as follows:
a)Forecast valid from 00.00 until 24.00 - forecast on weather conditions during 24 hours.
b)Expected wind and temperature - it is calculated the speed, the wind direction and the temperature indicated from numeric patterns in free atmosphere. Beside each altitude (ex. 2000 m) you will find a first figure made up of four numbers that indicates the speed in knots and the direction of the wind in grades (ex: 3513 indicates that the wind is at 13 knots and comes from 350°, north-west) this symbol / separates the next two figures that represent the expected temperature.
c)Significant changes - further information is recorded on parameter variations such as example wind and temperature during the validity of forecast (if nil is stated that means nothing has changed).
d)Next 24 hours - it is the forecast for the day after tomorrow.
e)Ephemeris - indicates main localities, the time in which the sun rises and sets (ex. Sondrio 8.02 17.19 that means that in Sondrio the sun rises at 8.02 and sets at 17.19).
f)V.S.O. - it is the wind examined at the ground and it is calculated in the same way in which winds are represented.
